Angela Is Rent To Own But Aren't We All Poem by Raj Dronamraju

Angela Is Rent To Own But Aren't We All

Some believe in bygones and some believe in trigones
Angela just asks for recompense up front
If the same was an option, most would also take this
Her indifference is not so proportional

What we give of ourselves for commerce and a living is not ourselves
Slid off like on the oily skin of inveterate liars
Not a sell-out, perhaps one of infrastructure outliers
I can't stomach anymore of you

Erroneous falling empires, stand under tarpaulins
Tarpaulins don't condemn Angela
No one condemns Angela for living with an older man she doesn't love but who buys her things and pays the rent

Perhaps they should and then add gender inequity to the bill that is due
In hushed back and forth, negotiations are lively and set as a starting point that Angela is rent to own
I know what you are, now we are just deciding on the amount
