Angela's Cry Poem by Ndina Kamaro Muofhe

Angela's Cry

She died for his attention
To her sick soul, she thought
It would be a medication
It turned out, he was a fraud
Her feelings clouded her judgement
Now she sobs painfully behind locked doors
For her soul is pierced to the nerve

She pinches herself endlessly to tears
It is questions she asked herself deep within
She wished she could roll back the wheel
Back to where everything was just a lust
For, she hates the day she acted upon her feelings

She hates his scent though coming from other men
All she ate, she would just throw back
Her eyes are reddish, it's just another mark of pain
In the street, she sees him pass and her heart frowns
He crucified all she is ever had for a man

On papers, she writes bitterness
In songs, she sings sadness
Her soul now prefers loneliness
Trying to heal herself from the craziness

He was her ego and pride
Tall, she stood happy in smiles
Now, she is stuck like a body without bones
That man wrecked her hormones
It's the reason she utters in bile tones

Little Angela is broken
Another man would wield his flirts
She would be like a pyramid unshaken
She fears the same roads she once took
And when the pain hits home,
She indulges in her tears
The only place where her soul finds its strength
