Angelic Yet Hopeless Love - Poem by Saz Fairy
Love is a confusing mystery,
Involved in every story, throughout time and history
That has travelled through the past
The mystery of love, and how long it will last.
Whether love is truly real,
And how your hearts do feel,
Whether love is really true,
Is all up to him and you.
For is the long hard quest of every person’s heart
And is the hearts purpose, love is just another part.
That fills you up and makes you whole,
Required for life, required for your soul.
For this is the tale of one lost person, this is the tale of me.
It is of the emotion of love, love it came to me, the first time I did see
The wondrous angel who came into my life.
Healed my heart, cleansed me of problems and of strife.
For the magic he gave me, the magic of love.
Made him in my eyes, an angel sent to me from above.
Little did I know he was like this to all,
To him, I was just another person he saved from the fall.
But unknown to him, was that I had already dropped to the floor,
But he had lifted me back up off the ground, picked me up. To higher than I was before,
And with this I disappeared into the depth of his eyes.
Into a fantasy that now has me hypnotized
For he swallowed my life, and replaced it with him
But reality is slowly leaking back in.
Now I do see, the only one in love is me
And an illusion is all it will ever be.
If only illusions could turn into something real.
If only love in return he did feel.
Or maybe if I had never fallen for this angel I still do love.
My life would be more than constant push and shove,
From problem to problem, with daily healing from his word and hope
It is slowly not healing me as well as before. Soon I won’t cope,
Unless his words start to mean a bit more.
But I know now to never hope, for more to be in store.
For he lives a distance to far to see.
And he loves another, who does not love him, unlike me.
So one day maybe he will understand,
That in my eyes, he is perfect and inspiring me to make my stand
