I dip my bare feet
ankle deep
into myself
wade out to about the knees
Take a deep breath
plug my nose
and take the plunge
I cascade across the pages
tracing outlines of the waves
along the shore
Echoing some tune
I heard muttered in the wind
as I attempt
to dance my way home
with drink in hand
giving toast
to the drivers
on the open road
Some vagrant
impulsive
attempt at living
overcomes me
I stand aside
from the cacophony
of the world
If only to hear the sounds
of my own silent symphony
