Ann Yet Smiles Poem by Vadakkumpurath Ramesan

Ann Yet Smiles

Ann wept and shed tears
When the burst of Guns overhead
Trembled her heart and soul
But her papa, mama raised hands
In prayer to Jehovah!
Yearning for help and solace
With their grim face emotionless
With their souls apprehending
The arrival of the worst.
But-little Ann stopped moan
Despite the murkey mood rent the air
And wiped cheeks to remove remorse
And the grim somber mood
She took the little book she got
From her father while they flee
She took the pen to scribe
The narrations of every dawn
The horror of every dusk
Of Amsterdam her safe haven
The blood shed on the soil
That soaked the Jews blood
Her letters on pages started to turn red
As if the blood of the lost souls
Whose odyssey under Nazis untold
But witnessed by the blind folded God
By the fervent call for mercy
By the cry of the sword
That slit the throat
By the sound of the gun
That pierced the head and heart
Of the descendants of Abraham!
The innocent lamps of Moses!
Whom the Nazis brutalize
With no mercy in eyes or hearts
On command by Adolf
Who play with his dog
And hug Eva Brawn!
Ann razed all her fears!
To her knowledge and wisdom
That life is too short to enjoy
That she laughed and danced
Till the Nazis snatch them
As of a herd of innocent sheep!
Ann hid her small book
And prepared for Nazis arrival
As boots roamed above ground.
When Ann, her mama and all!
Caught- and pushed to holocaust ground
She whispered to papa
To the lie of the short book
To take the tale out to world once
If he would be alive then!
Lies Marie lost to typhus
Her father freed on Adolf's suicide
Rushed as Nazis.surrender
To the bunker where Ann,
Slept, dreamed and dined
And took the hand book out
Where letters shed tears and blood
As Hitler read him Mein Kamph!
Ann smiled and laughed
When millions with tears
Recited the classic of war literature
Penned by Ann Frank
The little Lies Marie!
