We seem to live these days with so much anti
Anti-this and anti-that
Anti-Semitism, anti-Muslim, anti-Black
Where is peace to be found in the human race
The kindness deep within the heart, upon the face
Each day we hear of more oppression
Communities punished for Whom they pray, seek Confession
Thousands displaced for re-education and rehabilitation
Even more evicted from their homes of years of habitation
Every day somewhere, there is a protest march
A march for anti-this or anti-that
Anti-government, anti-crack, anti-frack
Why is the world in such constant turmoil
Evidence from the past has never been rid of such toil
Human history has proved it is not pretty, not a clan
Never a utopia since our creation began
Dictators and despots find ways to blame innocent others
Power and glory to rule and reign are all that bothers
Millions destroyed and maimed in unwarranted wars
Yet, they continue unabated, lessons not learned from yore
What is it in humankind that on we drive
This drive for anti-this and anti-that
Anti-gay, anti-vaccine, anti-whatever the current scrap
Those fortunate have freedom to rise and go and yell
While others suppressed, living on the verge of hell
Will there ever be a time when populations march universally
March with placards calling for world unity
March to demand of their governments to seek only peace
Seek anti-oppression, anti-poverty, anti-war, anti-grief
