Apart. Poem by Safiyyah Manjra

Apart.

Rating: 5.0

Too much time spent in fantasy,
Can make you lose touch of reality.

To slamming doors,
Teary eyes,
Love that shatters,
Broken insides.

Tell me there's better,
Than the tears which come after laughter,
Or the moments we spend together.

In the end we are all in our own way- some type of lonely,
As we can be in each other's presence but- held apart inevitably.

Rather it's our parents acceptance,
Or my conscience.
I am sorry I don't but want to give you the same correspondence.

Sometimes I like to think of a ‘we.'
Or the reality of a maybe.
But this thing called love is far from my reality.

It is scary to say that when sometimes my view,
Is really being with you.
