First came the thunder, the sound of progress,
it marked the end of days of living in excess.
And then fire melted skin, flesh and bones
as blue ashes covered grey grass and stones.
Time - God of the dead - broke his promises
when he sent all our children to the Goddess.
Only sea-shells were left to see the sunrise,
silent witnesses to the last man's demise.
