Apocripha: Adam And Eve Poem by Gert Strydom

Apocripha: Adam And Eve

(after Elisabeth Eybers)

When in grief they found comfort in each other,
like leaves blown in a wild wind
do know of the depth of their straying
they did tenderly bind with each other,

their glances penetrated their souls,
their hearts did bounce up and down from bliss,
they were united against their cruel destiny
with love as a strong fortress.
