Apollo's Gift Poem by John Leroy Maxwell

Apollo's Gift

The people cried out, 'O Apollo! Save us from this plague of
suffering and death.. Then Apollo, the enemy of all things
evil came down from Olympus, with bow and arrow in hand..
'Twang! ' The bowstring sang, and the arrow sped into the serpent
Python, ending his infestation of Delphi and the people therein..
Hence Apollo, the God of light, youth, poetry, music and of
prophecy made known to the people the will of Heaven..
Apollo's oracle; a song of triumph..
