Approaching Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Approaching

Approaching.
The ending of a decade.
Fighting to remain,
In division and conflict.
Revealing changes,
Fresh and new.
With a beginning done to heal,
Minds sickened...
By an enforced feeding,
On delusion and fraud deceiving truth.
Weakening a quality of life.
And the diversity of it meant to do.

Yet...
Evil doers are casting shadows fading.
Hoping their evilness will undo truth.
Leaving the faithful submissive.
Made slaves to images.
And self indulgence to worship.

Approaching.
Appearing close to shine bright,
On the horizon to leave behind...
The ones who disbelieve,
Money to have it.
Status to obtain.
And pretensions imitating,
A power to have that redefines truth.
Will not be in their hands,
When the year 2021 comes.
Removing all that had been deluded.
With fiction to seduce,
Minds reduced to fantasies!

Reality approaches.
To protest or not,
Against its effective appearance.
And those with kept faith,
Need not to fear...
Objecting to the taste,
Of a new flavor to ultimately crave...
An adventure that replaces,
A steady diet of division...
Confusion.
And the smell of leftover racial conflicts!
