Are There Black Angels? Poem by G. Akanji Olaniyi

Are There Black Angels?

Rating: 5.0

Tripping over the crests of the hanging Mountain Everest
Scrambling over the snows inhabiting the North Pole
Perusing through the hallowed pages of the scriptures
In awe of the degree of the tan
A skin serving as the clothe
Confused whether the colour speaks
Of the minds of the wicked
Perhaps the good minds
But we have seen the angels
Draw to many illustrations
In depictions of whiteness
Peace, harmony and tranquility
So, where are the black angels?
Are the angels black?
