Are You Thinking About Thanking The Father? Poem by Denis Martindale

Are You Thinking About Thanking The Father?

Are you thinking of the Father, and of the Saviour, too,
Or tell me, would you rather, forget Christ died for you?
The Holy Spirit grants rewards and oh so many things,
Thanks to God's Son, the Lord of Lords and Christ, the King of Kings.
When miracles anoint our lives, extending life and love,
It's then some husbands and their wives first pray to God above.

The children turn up, then get fed, then blessed when they get saved,
God blesses those if Spirit-led, good-tempered, well-behaved.
Yet we are all like children here, that's why the Saviour prayed,
Our Father, yes, Christ made that clear, no wonder Christ obeyed.
To think, one day the Cross of Christ the Saviour bravely faced,
To think, one day God sacrificed the Son He once embraced.

For God so loved the world He gave, and Jesus Christ gave, too.
Let's thank God's Son who was so brave He died for me and you.
