Arranged Poem by Erica Davison

Arranged

We had an arrangement
That is true
But was it good for me or you?
It seems we both end up in heartache
And what are we to do?

Follow on in lover's course
And wave goodbye to past deceits
Or do we build walls along our paths
So that they never more shall meet?

Do we admit our mistakes?
Or keep them hidden from our eyes?
So that when we next embrace
We never more shall cry

Or do we burn our book of love
And from the ashes form a page
Where we admit our mistakes, build a wall between our paths, and in lover's course debate
Which can be blown across the sea
And in a small existence be
Yet far away from you and me
Where we start again now free

From our arrangement?
