Resemblance Poem by Erica Davison

Resemblance

Don't cry
It makes him jealous
Don't smile
He just can't take it
Don't laugh
The sound will make him hate you
Don't sigh
He'll take you as ungrateful
Don't complain
He'll make you vanish
Don't quit
'Cause that's not fair
Don't love
He'll only use you for it
Don't hate
He'll hurt you anyway
Don't compliment
He doesn't care
Don't follow orders
Or you're useless
Don't disobey
He'll die
Don't die
It's inconvenient
Don't look
You can't afford
Don't read
It's all untrue
If you have to live
Just make sure
You never resemble you
