Sailor Man Poem by Erica Davison

Sailor Man

This isn't living, it's surviving
We act happy
Need reminding
Can't go on with just surviving

Closing in the ice is melting
I feel safe against against your skin
With all that darkness to creep in
I love the smell of your sin
But your heart is melting with the ice
You take pleasure and delight
And I am left to just survive

You know it isn't right
But you leave me here to fight
I struggle for your sin
There's no more darkness creeping in

Hell hath fury so divine
But you haven't yet seen mine
Sailor and survivor
Now our lives are intertwined
And I know you think you're leaving
Look ahead and just keep driving
Soon in hot blood you'll be writhing
Don't blame me, this is surviving.
