As A Better Person Poem by Francis Duggan

To grow old as a better person is all I wish to be
And help anyone who does need help from me
And practice the theory of live and let live
In life to receive you must learn how to give
And truly believe on a fair go for all
Any kindness shown to others is never too small
In life if we do not give we cannot expect to receive
This is something that I for one on does firmly believe
I am learning from mistakes I made long ago
And I cannot say I am one who does not have a foe
But we learn as we live as the wise one does say
With me anyhow it is this way
I am in the late Autumn of my life span
And I wish to grow old as a far kinder man.
