As A Narcissist Poem by Francis Duggan

As A Narcissist

He'd like to father a child but not support a partner or wife
The selfish young man in the prime of his life
The ego can be a narcissistic creature indeed
For the survival of his genes he'd like to plant the seed.

The offspring he would like to create he would not help to raise
The selfishness of some never ceases to amaze
He feels the World ought to thank him for what he has done
If he father's a daughter or father's a son.

To him everybody his praises should sing
The one who feels he should have been born a king
He would like to be a dad but in his own selfish way
For the privilege of such he does not wish for to pay.

A classical case here of me, myself and I
As a narcissist he'll live and as a narcissist he'll die
Without helping to pay for such his own image he hopes to create
His spirit is small but his ego is great.
