As I Kneel Poem by Quel Saige

As I Kneel

As I kneel,
A ghost of a smile
Passes over my lips.
Ironies too cruel to admit.
Poignancy too real.

As I fall,
Dying all the while
It stays, a reminder
That even ghastlier times were
Happier withal.
