As I Look In The Mirror

Rating: 3.5

As I look in the mirror
I saw a reflection
Whom I'm suppose to know
But I was clueless
Who it was, was a mystery
All I saw was a stranger
staring right back at me

AS i look in the mirror
I saw pain and anger
Buried within the eyes
of this stranger
I saw shoulders carrying
much more of a burden
more than they can bear

As I look in the mirror
I saw a man who is not
yet a man
I saw a boy forced
by the situation to become
a man before his time
I saw lack of confidence

As I look in the mirror
I saw a face that is filled with hope
yet! it has been disappointed several times before
I saw lips that are thirsty
thirsty for a smile
I saw a soul
that is searching for salvation

As I look in the mirror
I saw a face that belongs
in the museum
A face of a legend in the making
I saw a face of a worrier
who has fought for everything he has
Yet, he is still hungry for success

As I look in the mirror
I began to feel a connection
between me and this stranger
The pain I see, is the one I feel
could it be that I'm related to him?
oh! mirror who is this I see?
please enlighten me
