As I Pray Poem by Randy McClave

I vote the way that I pray
I say this, this Sunday,
As God watches me from above
He knows the buttons that I will shove.
I will not vote for the greedy
And I will not vote for those who hate the needy,
I will not vote for a hater
Never will I vote for a wannabe dictator.
I will not vote for a cheater or a liar
Or one with evil and lies who wants to conspire,
I won't vote for an adulterer or one who is unfaithful
I vote braggart or the boastful.
I will not vote for a racist or a bigot
With slander flowing from their mouth like a running spigot,
If they break any of God's commandments
They'll have my arguments.
I will not vote for a coward or a bully
That's my beliefs fully,
When I go out to vote
I will vote how the New Testament was wrote.
