As I Proceeded Up The Hill Poem by Raymond Farrell

As I Proceeded Up The Hill

As I proceeded up the hill
Going west on Sheppard Avenue
My empty back pack on
Heading to the super market
I had just become lost in thought
Oblivious to the late afternoon traffic
When the sudden roar
Of a car engine being revved up
Startled me out of my meditation
Briefly I saw the sleek
Low to the ground
Form of a black Ferrari
Whizz down the hill
Only to brake hard
At the traffic light
About 500 meters away
Let us all have pity
For people such as these
Who have way more money
Than they have brains
After all
Who really needs a Ferrari
In a city
With five months of winter?
