As I Told Her Last Night... Just Let Me Hold My Tongue For Once And Let Things Happen

'All romantics meet the same fate...'
—Joni Mitchell, 'The Last Time I Saw Richard'

As I told her later on, last night, quoting Joni Mitchell
and Tori Amos as my authorities—"Who? " she asked—
"A part of you pours out of me in these lines from time
to time." I then pointed to my head. "Everything's in here."
At which point our knuckles met above the bar, we laughed,
and all was forgiven. (That's psychology for you!) At times,
life has this uncanny way of working itself out if we let it.
As happened last night... There is more to tell, of course;
but let me hold my tongue for once, and let things happen.
