As I Walk Down The Aisle Poem by ANN MARY

As I Walk Down The Aisle

As I walk down the aisle
With my heart throbbing intensely
I could see hundreds of curious eyeballs,
turned around on me; Sigh!
I looked straight forward and walked
But my vision got a little unclear and dizzy
My Mind is now playing a boomerang with memories
It took me to the corridor of my college
where we walked along hand in hand
where we shared our dreams and hopes
where we built our deep rooted faith in each other
The words, the happiness and our little world
The fights and the make-ups, the seemless friendship
'Forever' was the only word that defined our relation
yes, we were one in a million couple.
Each other's greatest support and best-friends
Yes, I loved him to bits and wished to be his forever
despite the distance and spaces, I loved him
But the words that shook me to the core
and crushed me to tiny bits of despair stroke my head
As a reminder of wretched memory
'I don't love you anymore 'Sigh!
I struggled to hold back my tears,
My vision got clear and saw the Man in the suit
standing there and waiting for me,
I tried to smile a little and stepped forward to him
Accepting the grey truth of life and moving on
To start a new journey of life with a fine Man
My heart gave me phenomenal strength and power
It's my revival! I walk down the aisle!
