As I was walking down the street
A young a couple I did meet,
They tightly help onto each others hand
A future together they had planned.
They didn't want to let the other one go,
Their love for each other they wanted the world to know.
As I was walking down the road
A middle aged couple I saw in the cold,
They were tightly holding onto each other's hand
So, neither one could slip or escape from the bland.
They didn't want the other one to leave,
Because, they'd be alone and they would grieve.
As I was walking down the path
An elderly couple I saw, and I began to laugh,
They were fiercely holding onto each other's hand
So, neither would fall and both would stand.
Of each others hand they didn't want to release,
Because, that's how they felt security and peace.
