As Teardrops Fall... - Poem by Michael K...

You cup it, ever so gently in your hands,
So careful not to hurt it further...
Your touch...
Soothing...so calming.
'Don't be afraid...I'm here now'

You gaze apon this gentle creature...helpless,
Fluttering it's wings to no avail...
The hurt...the pain it must feel,
Covered...Clothed in the dirt...the oils of this world.
Trapped...afraid...dying.

An overwhelming sadness befalls you.
How can this happen...
Why did this happen...how can i save you...
In your sadness...love,
A 'teardrop' falls.

A 'teardrop' falls,
The miraculous...
As teardrops fall...the healing.
The cleansing...
A life begins anew.

In your gentle...in your loving hands,
A spirit is reborn.
Free once again...
To live...to love...
To soar.

Thank you...for allowing my spirit to soar once more...
