As The Leaves Fall To Die Poem by Cynthia Buhain-baello

As The Leaves Fall To Die

Amber and brown,
The leaves fall down,

Carrying your dreams
To the ground, it seems.

Bleakness and gloom,
Autumn winds find room,

As they empty your heart
Like the leaves, hope departs.

In the coldness of winter
You will not remember

Warmth from the sunshine
When you were mine.

Time was no friend
Longer days he won't lend.

But with my last Spring
A love that's evergreen

Will stand proof that no season
Can touch, it lives on.

As the leaves fall to die
I must say my goodbye

And express my last wish
That this memory you'll cherish.
