As The Rose Withers In My Hand Poem by Cheng Zheng

As The Rose Withers In My Hand

Or more like 'As the Rhyme Withers in my Verse', but anyhow...

***************

Dreaming of Heaven with dancing Lolitas;
Crowned with angelic tears.
This vision of my paradise
Like frozen fire sears.

If only you had wings I would fly away with you;
To drink you deep like a river of gold.
If only ten thousand years were as a day
So we might never grow old.

If only truth wasn’t found beyond rainbows;
Like mountains cold and bleak.
If only bliss wasn’t found in selfish love
And we weren’t so damn weak.

If only fire didn’t freeze the heart;
You know love rhymes with above.
If only the corpses of wise men dead and gone
Could show us the treasure trove.

If only money could buy me a heart;
One not obscure, one not evil.
If only lies were true and three little words
Enough to enchant the Devil.

Dreaming of Heaven with dancing Lolitas;
Crowned with angelic tears.
This vision of my paradise
Like a burning blade it tears.
