As White As Quiet(For Ruthie) Poem by Dónall Dempsey

As White As Quiet(For Ruthie)

Rating: 5.0

Snow
on the Boulevard Saint-Michel

someone...somewhere...singing

can't make out
where it's coming from

so that it seems
the snow is singing

'Nessun' Dorma! '
the snow sings
'Nessun' Dorma! '

until all
is white

as quiet.

Ahhh Nessun Dorma....Puccini....brings back memories. I saw Pavorotti or should I say heard him sing this many years ago now in the Park in London and also at Leeds Castle. It was freezing cold and raining at Leeds Castle and my lover got the shivering quivers and we had to rush back to the car....the music seemed to haunt us from the distance as they sang La Traviata la laaaa la la la la la la la la la Ruthie: O) used to sing but voice not that good anymore
