Asake Oreke Poem by Amudipe Opeyemi Marcus

Asake Oreke

Adetola, Aduke, Asake
The young maidens of our village
Whose face dazzles under the moonlight sun

Apeke, Aduni, Amope
The ones whose sumptuous buttocks
Sends a cold shrill down our manly spine

Omidan Awelewa Duduosun Ewaoyenikan
Oluwakemisola, The beauty among beauties
The star that steals the show of the heart

Nature your radiance defiled
The sun it took for a rival
Its pride your beauty undermine

For when the sun drops its Anchor at night
Your beauty comes out to play
Adumaadan, the reason our maidens lurks behind the shadows.
