Ashamed Poem by Becca Bell

Ashamed

You tell me you love me
So why do I still cry in the cold?
You tell me I'm the only one
Who makes you feel the way you do
Now I finally realize
You're just messing with my head
Love is such a powerful word
A word people tend to misuse
Something they take for granted
Something they beat and abuse
Love is my sinking feeling
It's all I ever know anymore
A symbol of my familiar disappointment
Screw this love I know
My wounds run deep inside me
There's blood all over
I think this time I've really lost it
And I'm ashamed to show my face.
