Ashes Ashes - Poem by Audrey Holley

Ashes, Ashes you had to fall
I've waited so patiently for your call
You lay asleep so peaceful and still
Why you were taken was not at all my will

Similar in many ways we most truely are
When you fell my fragile heart developed a scar
Irate emotions and much sadness my heart does feel
I urge you to show me a way to forget you are real

Should it be, that I must let you go?
Lead me the way, indeed then you will let me know
Ashes, Ashes intime we all must fall
Finally then, perhaps I will stand tall
