Ashes To Ashes, Dust To Dust Poem by Changu Chilwesa

Ashes To Ashes, Dust To Dust

ASHES TO ASHES, DUST TO DUST
My riches gain I count but loss, the world’s finest treasures and life’s pleasures
Define me not. I put to die that which makes me mourn, the trials that rob me of my
Joy and the ailments that take from me the strength to face this day with courage. I look into
The mirror and I see that which at times chokes the very life out of me, I stand amazed
Shattered dreams, lost hope, broken promises and past failures my face I let them wrinkle.
I look again at the image right in front of me and BANG! It hits me! If only I could have sight
Beyond what I see now, as far as my eyes can see, thus far I should possess. Everything kind of
Affliction that holds me down, take your rest. Ashes to ashes and dust to dust.

I pour contempt on every manner of pride, for it is not in my own strength that I should boast,
Though alone at times am driven to feel, forgetting that He will never leave nor forsake me, I
Never have, for in Him I move, breath and have my whole being. Treacherous murder, some
Would call it, but mercy on things that drive me away from Him have I none. The tenacity to
Bring down all kinds of deformalities in my household, I will keep, for in posterity, tranquility
In my home shall I have beyond measure. The fame and fortune, is not by my own might
but blessed are the works of mine hands, the Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away. If ever
for a split second I get so into myself, I will remember silver and gold have I none. I will shout
boldly on the mountain tops though it hurts, I know without him I am nothing…ASHES TO ASHES, DUST TO DUST!

The amenities that charm me most, parting with you is like tearing this very heart out of my body, it written sometimes it is difficult for camel to pass through the eye of a needle. At your funeral I will cry but in the midst of the tears, I know I need to lay me down for the One that lives in me has but a greater calling and to him I must heed.So long, you that caused me to live in dismay, so long you almost deceived me, not everything that glitters is gold..Dust to dust and ashes to ashes.
Kipin’ it Jesus, changu
