Asking For A Stiff Drink Poem by Ted Sheridan

Asking For A Stiff Drink

Rating: 4.4

She asked me to explain why every man
she meets wants to screw her; I replied,
“I can’t speak for every man but I can tell you why I do.
Give me a few minutes to prepare; to strip myself
of my inhibitions and I will give you my answer.
Removing a glass from the cabinet, I poured a stiff drink
of the finest whiskey available to man…..
Toasting the beauty of both, I raised my glass and said….
Until this point in my life, both the fine whiskey and the fine woman
had always been unobtainable….

I do agree the older you get the finer the wine gets
