Asleep
On the road this morning
I saw two lambs lying side by side
they were fast asleep
or rather,
they were calm
and dead.
For in death, they sleep
and their souls: souless
wondering on the roads
amongst a thousand many
where their shed is a road
and their heaven, a vacuum.
