Assumptio Poem by Luke Hobbs

Assumptio

Rating: 5.0

Assumptio

Taken as a given
Connection pivots upon pure affection
A dovetail, mortis and pin
The keyhole to secret chambers
Let these words testify
Of the role you played
While life rehearsed my fate
Moments spent were not perceived
As just wasted time
Thoughts shared were genuine
When the end titles scroll
A chapter will pass
Which bore your name

Angles are congruent
If all is mutual
The burden is easily divided
There is a completion in
Finding another self external
A separate sameness
By the mirror image proven

Assumptio

The joy of a hope
Founded in truth
Custody is given only
Where care is shown
The precious few
Admitted are clues

Sides may be assumed
Astride the lines of separation
Our point of view was equal
Prone to solitude
Others had found my thoughts
Fixed and dated, they were disposed
To granting only specifics
Fitting within coddled comfort
Regurgitated lines to tow
Small concern for details
Nor particular of their company
Not so with you
Thus followed my esteem…
