At The Crossroads Of Vampires Poem by Auaduma Adookorn

At The Crossroads Of Vampires

Arise, you goddess warriors of black Africa,
from your den under the stormy sea, where
our exculpatory ancestors were hauled,

on the way to their compulsory servitude,
across the angry sea -- from Africa
to Europe, America to Portugal

Arise, you warrior gods of Africa,
from your cove underneath the rocky
mountain, across the valley, and spiritual
realm, to engage in the freedom fight
for our relief from self endorse slavery

Drunk with greed and tribal misanthropy,
we bought the wild civilization of western
culture, prided in the barrel of gunpowder
and logic devoid of conscience and goodwill

as democracy forged with the heart
of serpent, the rule of the people by the
people and for the people, in disarray!

With the splited tongues of reptile they lie,
they turn the moon into our sun, and pull
the wool over our eyes of river blindness

Arise, arise, you downtroden Africa,
from your hutch underneath the giant foot --
the choking foot of political masquerades
clad in the fickle hues of the chameleon

Drunk with the folly of Me-First syndrome,
we bought the woolly civilization of the eastern
culture, prided in myopic mysticism, and religious
bigotry, restructure as miracle christianity

Let's raise our voices in freedom song,
flag the banner and emblem of lost hope -
and chant down the scarecrow guides

Let's gore down the voracious pride of lions,
cannibals of sceptre dressed in fawn velvet
to exhibit their belly, the grave where
the baskets of the nation are entombed

But from far eerie cove, a crimson tornado
of fiery tongue spew fire, and melt the vampires --
sounds of drums, the drums of new dawn thunder

with restorative frenzy, as gifted blacks
amaze the world with their crafts -- the hidden
talents inebriated by the vampires of sceptre..
