At The Last Call Poem by Auaduma Adookorn

At The Last Call

My journey is too far and urgent
to value my lot when I turn clay,
and I must trek the path of my birth--
naked and selfless, without delay

Don't go and shed tears at my grave side
coz I left at the blink of an eye,
and I have been shielded in my shield--
so do not shed tears of last goodbye

Don't sing me at the unsated grave
where soft-bodied termite wine and dine,
but walk to your inner room and grieve
because you can't return with a pin

Yet, you mortgage your life, pile up wealth
that might be hijacked by foes at last, .
