At The Wedding Ceremony Poem by RIC BASTASA

At The Wedding Ceremony

and then it is time for the bride
to speak
as custom dictates,

her hands are trembling
her tongue
unable to utter any word
and drops of tears
fall from her eyes
she looks at the crowd
and bows her
head with so much
gratitude
on this special occasion of
her life

she cries and resigns
back to her seat

we know what she means
happiness that cannot be
contained in the hands of
words
so much bliss
so many tears falling

tears of joy!

the groom kisses her again
the audience clap
for a new beginning
