A-Trembly Up These Rungs, To Reach Poem by james watkin

A-Trembly Up These Rungs, To Reach

A-trembly up these rungs, to reach
For melodic climbs
What, heart for passions, dormant?
What, O soul pregnant?
The ultimate! But rivalled by
'I love you's' refrain.
Through each disburdenment, pure
Heaven's shimmer-lure.
