Aurora Poem by Timothy Long

Aurora

I love you despite your flaws,
I love you despite your hurt,
I know where you go and what you went through,
Others might dislike but not hate like us,
I wanted you so bad,
That much is true,
I wanted so badly to touch you,
Tears under the stars,
Drops from the moon,
Cut like a jar of hearts,
Love can last a thousand years,
Because you are only human,
Love can't start without you,
Love is doing all you can,
Without feeling weak or needy,
Lovers become rivals,
Angels become devils,
When love is rising,
Friendship is dying,
Tonight will come again,
Just as the sky will renew,
I hope you see,
Don't let the sun go down on me,
A careless whisper is all that will be heard,
I wanted us to be free,
But you got away from me,
It was your intention,
Your feelings showed through,
That's why I forgave you,
Not as lovers,
But as friends,
It lessened the pain at the end,
Time will fly by,
Strangers we may become,
But it was all so much fun,
Love was on the run,
Time to let everything go,
Change has come and gone,
We are both different now,
You have come and finally went,
Love has struck you once again,
You belong to another,
Forgotten as I am,
I am still free,
Happier by any means,
I've become a better me.
