Autumn Poem by Mehreen Mujeeb

Autumn

Pieces of twigs bullet across
They pierce through the air
The breeze snatches leaves
The orange sky breathes through bare trees.

The fire burns down trees
Another tree is shot
Another tree bleeds
The breeze snatched burnt leaves.

The man tears leaves off
One by one they parachute
Their green tears rust on the ground
The trees are stripped naked.

Who said only in autumn leaves fall?
