Autumn Again Poem by Raymond Farrell

Autumn Again

Autumn again
With its pleasant temperatures
Vivid colors and harvest bounty
Today, while I sat on the porch
I saw a squirrel
Exit the cornfield across the road
With a full cob of corn in his mouth
Pausing briefly
At the foot of a maple tree
In our yard
Readjusting his grip
Then climbing the tree
Coming to rest
On the first branch
He sat
Enjoying some corn on the cob
For lunch.
