Autumn Hues Poem by Dwayne Rankin

Autumn Hues

Rating: 5.0

A snap in the air from that autumn breeze;
The stream that flowed, heard down below.
Mixed all within those autumn trees;
Brought beauty to this bright autumn show.

The trees in front, a reddish sheen;
The slight soft glow of the leaves nearby.
With the background found of evergreen,
To match the winds soft autumn sigh.

Those river rocks, a startling gray,
Upon that beach, next to that stream.
Cold they looked, that autumn day;
Eternal there, or so 'twould seem.

Then set, to bring to all a cheer,
Those mountains fair, high overhead.
Their trees would still, throughout that year,
Remain a green, forever wed.

The young man stood and gazed all 'round;
A look of wonder in his eyes:
The stream that flowed still outward bound;
The glories of those autumn skies.

Those reds and golds of this bright season,
Seen mixed within the greens and blues.
Caused all to stop and look with reason,
At all those wondrous autumn hues.
