Autumn Pause Poem by C H Sund

Autumn Pause

Rating: 5.0

When days of green grow pale
and flowers have given all…
a coolness descends, refreshing,
causing all to pause.

As boy moves to man and then
to elder… he also pauses,
refreshes and reflects of all.
All beauty created and rightly viewed.

And the greens offer up their praise
to skies above, revealing souls
so golden rich in hues and shades,
with redden orange flares to wave.

And the man also pauses too…
To offer his praise to the skies
for blessings of life he’s tasted,
and blessings he’ll leave behind.

Then the golden field welcomes the man
as he journeys towards horizon set
and both feel autumn’s gentle call
helping to ease their final trek.

Your poem graciously expresses autumn as a metaphoric 'letting go' and compares both the natural and the human expression of this beautiful season. The music of Gabriel Faure comes to mind as I read your words. love, Allie ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
