Autumnal Equinox Poem by James Gibbons

Autumnal Equinox

The soft day speaks only silence Fall colored, spotted and curled, ever restless leaves lie still, their green task done for today. And in the misty distance The sea and sky hold hands. Indistinguishable lovers together, Caught like teen agers, love hungry on this very last day. Whence nature still breathes her warmth. And we revel in her soft embrace Willing spirit that brings romantic zephyrs Before tomorrow's are snatched away.
