Avidya Poem by B. Sven Telander

Avidya

Knowing should be natural:
smiles, whispers of laughter,
crutches have shock absorbers,
hyper-rat got lost in her morning hair,
all psychotic corkscrews, skin a warm
velvet flesh, sleepy eyes hiding playgrounds,
getting to the ends by different means, tongue
stumbling through another awkward conversation
spasmodic lurching caught on a cycle with broken spokes,
taking some medicine from the black kiss,
enjoying the graveyard, so many stories.
“What are you crying for? ”
“Because I wanted to kiss you.”
Lost in the woods with two matches,
money and drivers licence help start the fire,
{is it real or do you create, the feelings
you feel to make you feel great? }
intimidation or inspiration,
translation when the eyes fell,
esoteric intrigues,
assess the occurrence,
impose a structure that the sub-
conscious can’t operate at full
capacity in- love is a verb- why do
some do what others only dream of?
Soul blue tonight, tonight soul blue, asking all
those questions without satisfying answers, maybe
myths and lies, orchestra’s claws, tastes artificial, not
for long, creativity dance, shedding dead skin to begin,
creature in the cage holds the key of release,
harmful dependency or human being,
canning apparatus in a packing plant,
shredded fish into short squat cans,
in boxes and trucks,
to mouth, stomach, intestine,
evacuation to plumbing, and back
to the sea
for the fish
who never
signed up
for the ride.
