Awaiting The Night Poem by Gladden Scribbles

Awaiting The Night

I have waited hours of noon
only if I could know how soon
when my dark loving sky would come
may peace then reign in my home;
I have stared patiently at the noon's power
maybe it could vanish for my desired hour,
but it shone in its luminance still
blithe of my longing will
oh! my tense, lovely night,
how sweet are you than the morning light
with your millions eyes calm and bright,
how serene is that lovely sight
with your nighty wings hooting the air
O! what creatures for increasing fear
with your sylphic wings dancing the sky
O! what lovely scene I could not buy
with that dread that deigns his sleepy sight
O! what a costly hour for the muse to write
and these gently were all I sought
if only the sun would hear me out
and call forth my dear night
So i could dwell in its peaceful light.
