As I leave you
I remember happier times
My smile was so wide
The heartache unspeakable

How can this be
Where did I go wrong
Did I not love you enough
Or, was it the opposite

I search my inner thoughts
Looking back in life
What did I miss
Where was there a lapse

How could I have changed
To have you still be mine
Keeping your love
Having to let go this time

Did I hold on too tight
Or not quite enough
Was it an out
For you to move out

Was my love not enough
Or, too much for you
Your plan was clear
To move on without me

Be that as it may
No matter how I tried
Your love shifted
Away from me that night
