Awen Poem by Edward Kofi Louis

Awen

Ugly cows from Awen,
Seven years of famine to your land;
But with the jawbone of a donkey,
I have made a heap over here.

Scrawny and very ugly,
To be in prison for three days;
But the governor over the land is yet to meet me.

Very ugly and lean,
With the jaqwbone of a monkey at hand;
And i have been able to lie very low over here.

Like the sand of the sea,
Life here is beyond measure!
Like three hundred foxes tired tail to tail.

A dog will not whet its tongue and,
You shall not eat anything unclean;
But like six hundred thousand men on foot,
A Nazirite should not drink wine or strong drink.
